THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR: NUMBERS

Hello again. You are helping me a lot. As you know I have got a bad memory and now I forgot all the numbers. Can you help me, please? Click on the next slideshare to listen to the numbers and repeat.

Now, trace my body. How many pieces can you count in each caterpillar?

Well done! To finish this blog, would you like to listen to a song? Click on play to watch the video. Have fun!

  1. Dear Laura,

I see we are working on the same topic! I've been looking at your activities and I find them interesting. I think that including audio in some of your activities has been a good idea, as this is something that will help very young learners to acquire the language. Providing video songs has also been a good thought, as these resources help our children to remember what they've learnt.

Thanks for sharing your work with us!

    Kind regards,
    Elisabeth

  2. Hello Laura,
I've enjoyed viewing your entry. I find interesting the way you treat every activity. The first one is so clear and graphic, so children see images and the word of each number. It's a good strategy to involve children in their own learning process. In the second activity children get involved to trace the body of the caterpillar and at the same time they have to count. It's a very comlete exercise in which they develop different skills. The last, with the video, is a perfect way to close the entry, very animate and I like the video because the song is repeted several times. Children specillay like songs and to sing them again and again. Congratulations. Very complete entry through variate activities.

  4. Hi Laura,

I really enjoyed your blog. There are a great variety of activities and they are very original. I think I would use some of them in my lessons because they are well-organised and they are accurate for preschoolers.

You are doing a great job and I think you will be a great teacher! Congratulations and keep working!
